Senior Game Designer
Department: Game Design
Position: Senior Game Designer
Role and responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with a team of game designers to design, tune, implement and balance game experience. 

  • Act as one of the lead game designers,  

  • Review design related tasks done junior or team members 

  • Mentor junior members of the team.  

  • Remain current industry trends including new game genres and designs.  

  • Develop and maintain design documentation, including mechanics, story and guidelines 

  • Work closely with product managers and producers to design and prototype new gameplay 

  • Collaborate with artists and animators to create unique environments and levels. 

  • Review the teams responsible for multiple mobile game projects, creating game design documents, diagrams and flowcharts.  

  • Create, maintain and evolve the detailed design specification of the features to support and prepare the development team for the implementation process. 

  • Prototype and implement the designs in the game for the best quality experience within each platform. 

  • Examine the game features and content in line with the projects vision and quality standards set by the product owner. 

  • Iterating quickly to gradually realize the game vision. Communicate, iterate and take design decisions based on the user feedback. 

  • Working closely with the rest of the team to ensure that the design specifications are achievable within the technical and production constraints of the project.  

  • Make certain player experience as the ultimate metric for the quality of any feature and content.  

  • Guide the team to consider, plan and detail every element of a new game. 

  • Taking ownership on complete game-balancing.  

  • Should manage a team of 3 to 4 game designers 
     

Requirements:
  • Expertise in Game Design, preferably with a strong focus on UI/UX and within cross-platform titles. 

  • Good documentation and prototyping skills with the typical tools of the trade: Office, flowcharts, Photoshop, Adobe XD, level editor etc. 

  • Knowledge on multiple genres of games 

  • Extensive experience of balancing complex game systems 

  • Experience in an Agile/SCRUM environment 

  • Experience 5+ years
